Members from the Conservation Ecology Center at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute will be joining the Clifton Institute for an evening discussion of amphibian conservation and ecology! Jessica Meck, Hunter VanDoren, and Michaela Mincone will give a presentation highlighting the importance and incredible characteristics of Virginia’s native amphibian species. After the presentation, they will lead an evening walk to nearby vernal pools to identify salamanders, frogs, and egg masses.

Jessica obtained her Master’s degree in Conservation Biology at Antioch University New England and has researched various turtle species in Massachusetts, Florida, and Virginia. Hunter, a Virginia native, obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science at Liberty University and has been a life-long naturalist focusing on reptiles and amphibians.
