Grassland Restoration Seminar

Wednesday, Dec 12, 2018

6:30pm – 8:00pm

Executive Director Bert Harris will give a presentation about grassland restoration. He will discuss the ecology of grasslands in Virginia and how to establish and maintain grasslands. This involves both controlling exotic plants and promoting native ones. Bert’s talk will explain why we are conducting a major grassland restoration experiment and how we’re planning to do it. The following topics will be covered: seed mix selection, prescribed fire, tilling, grazing, and mowing. Join us at 6:30 for drinks and appetizers. The talk will begin at 7:00 and last for about 45 minutes, with 15 minutes at the end of questions. Please RSVP by registering below or emailing Bert at bharris@cliftoninstitute.org.
