The wildflowers are still putting on a great show! During this program we’ll be at Director Bert Harris’ personal property, where there’s a very diverse field that has never been planted. We will be looking for Maryland Golden Aster, Downy Lobelia, and Round-Headed Bush Clover, among other grassland species. The soil is at Bird Hill is very different from the soil at the Clifton Institute, so it supports a very different community of plants. If you came to the Wildflower Walk at the Clifton Institute early in September, you’ll see a different set of plants on this walk. We will email registrants the address and driving directions shortly before the program.

Cost: $5

Age: Adults and children ages 12 and up accompanied by an adult at all times

Weather policy: Date and time subject to change dependent on weather. Please check your email for updates on the morning of the event.

COVID-19 information: This program will occur entirely outside and is limited to 15 people. We will practice social distancing. Please DO NOT attend if you or anyone in your household has experienced any symptoms related to the coronavirus in the last two weeks. There will not be bathrooms available.

Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given upon registrant cancellation. Refunds will only be given in the event that The Clifton Institute cancels the program. If you register and can no longer attend this event please let us know as soon as possible. Due to smaller group size limits imposed by COVID, many of our events have waitlists, and a few ‘no-shows’ have a significant impact.

What to wear: Outdoor clothing, including waterproof footwear and hats recommended.

What to bring: Mask, bottle of water, binoculars, camera
