Book Club: A Sand County Almanac

Saturday, Oct 24, 2020

3:00pm – 5:00pm

Join us outside for an evening of friendly, informal book discussion with fellow nature lovers.  This fall, the Clifton Institute Book Club will read A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold. First published in 1949, this book is an environmental classic. In it, Leopold writes with equal parts scientific accuracy and profound poeticism about landscapes, phenomena, and species such as the ‘sky dance’ of the American Woodcock and their courtship display. It’s an affordable and relatively quick read- we hope you’ll join us whether you read the book decades ago, the night before the discussion, or didn’t even finish it (yet) 🙂

The book is available through The Old Town Open Book in Warrenton. Order in store, online, or over the phone (curbside and in-store pickup is available).

We will be adhering to the following guidelines to keep everyone safe:

-There will be no bathrooms available and no access to the farmhouse.

-We will adhere to social distancing recommendations and keep 6 feet apart.

-Wearing masks is recommended.
