Party in the Pawpaw Patch

Friday, Sep 25, 2020

6:00pm – 7:30pm

Join us way down yonder for a pawpaw party! We are excited to host this celebration of our only native tropical fruit tree! With many colorful nicknames such as the hillbilly mango, the pawpaw’s cultural flavor is as intriguing as its taste. Education Associate and pawpaw enthusiast, Alison Zak, will give a brief talk on the cultural history of the species before we journey to the pawpaw patch to collect fruits to sample. Warning: You MIGHT be encouraged to participate in a sing-along 🙂

This program is intended for adults. For families with children looking to learn more about pawpaws, join us for Nature School and or YHikes! programs in September and October.

To keep everyone safe, this event will occur entirely outside with social distancing and limited registration. Please bring a mask.

IMPORTANT: If you register and can no longer attend this event please let us know as soon as possible. Due to smaller group size limits already imposed by COVID, many of our events have waitlists, and a few ‘no-shows’ can have a significant impact on the success of a program. We enjoy planning, promoting, and hosting these events and want to make sure they are available to everyone who is interested in attending. Thank you!
