Piedmont Wildflower Walk

Saturday, Sep 5, 2020

11:00am – 1:00pm

*This event is close to capacity. Please email Alison Zak at azak@cliftoninstitute.org to receive a registration form. This event was postponed from August 29 due to rain. You do not need to register again if you were registered for the original event. Thank you!*

Come and see our native Piedmont grassland at its best! This field has never been planted but it’s very diverse. We will be looking for slender lespedeza in full bloom, early goldenrod, and grassleaf goldenrod, among other grassland species. Executive Director Bert Harris will lead this walk through one of our most interesting habitats.

Fee: $5 a person. No refunds.

We will be implementing the following rules to keep everyone safe:

-There will be no bathrooms available and no access to the farmhouse.

-The group will be limited to 15 people or fewer.

-We will adhere to social distancing recommendations and keep 6 feet apart.

-No sharing of binoculars, spotting scopes, etc.

-Wearing masks is required.

-As he walks, Bert will flag plants and move on so people can view them socially distant.

If you are registered and can no longer attend this event please let us know as soon as possible. Due to smaller group size limits already imposed by COVID, many of our events have waitlists, and a few ‘no-shows’ can have a significant impact on the success of a program. We enjoy planning, promoting, and hosting these events and want to make sure they are available to everyone who is interested in attending. Thank you!
