Wishes and Trees Summer Book Club Finale

Tuesday, Jul 14, 2020

4:00pm – 6:00pm

The Clifton Institute is excited to partner with The Open Book for the Summer of Wishes and Reading Under Trees!

Starting on June 15th, families can visit The Open Book bookstore in Old Town Warrenton to receive a packet and add a wish to the tree located in the shop.

Readers of all ages are also encouraged to take pictures of themselves reading under trees and share them on social media. Be sure to tag @oldtownopenbook and @cliftoninstitute, and use the hashtag #readingundertrees.

Finally, we will hold a book club and tree walk for ages 6 and up at The Clifton Institute on July 14th. Activities and discussions will be inspired by books Can You Hear the Trees Talking? by Peter Wohlleben and Wishtree by Katherine Applegate. Then we’ll go for a hike to visit a real, live wishtree!

This event is free, but registration is required and space is limited. Please sign up using the button below and indicate how many CHILDREN will be in attendance. One adult per family is welcome to tag along, and we will be social distancing.

(For adults also interested in book clubs and reading under trees, join us for a discussion of Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver in August. Register here!)
