Grassland Restoration, Wildflower Meadow Establishment, and Piedmont Prairie Conservation

Friday, May 8, 2020

6:30pm – 7:30pm

In this online talk, Executive Director Bert Harris will teach you what you can do to establish native meadows for pollinators and grassland birds on properties that range from 1/4 acre to 100 acres. You’ll learn what to look for on your property: you may already have the species you need without having to plant anything! Bert will also cover our 110-acre grassland restoration experiment and talk about the flora, fauna, and conservation of the forgotten Piedmont prairies in our region. This program is a repeat of Bert’s talk from Virginia Tech’s Woods and Wildlife conference in February.
