Mindful Naturalists: Hiking Meditation

Friday, Oct 25, 2019

5:30pm – 7:00pm

“Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.” -Thich Nhat Hanh

In October we will experiment with walking meditation while hiking. When we intentionally hike in a meditative way, we learn to tune into our experiences out on the trail. We will hike in relative silence, paying more attention than usual to our movement through the forests and fields, step by step. What can we discover about the connection between our bodies, our breath, and the earth?

Mindful Naturalists is a free program series created to inspire mindful observation and nature appreciation. Each month we will explore a different topic and experiment with different practices to mindfully experience the natural world while enjoying hot tea and a peaceful evening at our beautiful field station. Please dress for the weather. No meditation experience required!
