City Nature Challenge Bioblitz on the Bull Run Mountains
Sunday, Apr 28, 2019
7:00am – 10:00pm
Join us to document as many springtime animals, plants, and fungi as possible on the Bull Run Mountains! Together with the Virginia Outdoors Foundation and the Bull Run Mountains Conservancy, we are participating in the 2019 City Nature Challenge, a competition to see which city has the most species. We will be contributing to the Washington D.C. metro area team. This is a special opportunity to visit a unique habitat on the Bull Run Mountains that is not usually open to the public. We will start with a bird walk, then look for all other kinds of species during the day, and end with moths in the evening! People of all skill levels are welcome. We are especially in need of people with expertise in insects, amphibians, reptiles, and fungi. Parking space is limited. If you are interested in participating in any capacity, please email Joe Villari at jvillari@vofonline.org. Once you have RSVPed, Joe will communicate details about the location and parking.
