Raptor Migration Field Trip

September 17, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

- Free

Every fall raptors migrate south along the Appalachian Mountains. Several species of hawks, eagles, and falcons can be seen migrating, but the biggest spectacles are the days when huge numbers of Broad-winged Hawks fly by. If we’re lucky we might see thousands! One of the expert bird-watchers on our staff will lead the group and discuss how to identify raptors in flight. We will meet at Snickers Gap, where there’s an excellent view of migrating raptors.

Cost: Free!

Age: This program is intended for an adult audience. Interested children accompanied by an adult are welcome to attend.
