Mindful Naturalists is a free program series created to inspire mindful observation and nature appreciation. Each month we will explore a different topic and experiment with a different practice for mindfully experiencing the natural world while enjoying a peaceful evening at our beautiful field station.

In March, join us for an evening listening to the music of nature. After a short walk and a brief guided meditation, we will find a spot in our fields to settle in and watch the sky grow dark while listening for woodcock, owl, and other critters. The American Woodcock may be ‘skydancing,’ so it’s the perfect time of year to sit outside at dusk and observe our surroundings mindfully.

Weather policy: Date and time subject to change dependent on weather. Please check your email for updates on the morning of the event.

COVID-19 information: This program will occur entirely outside and is limited to 15 people. We will practice social distancing and wear masks, so please bring one with you. Please DO NOT attend if you or anyone in your household has experienced any symptoms related to the coronavirus in the last two weeks. The farmhouse will be closed.

Cancellation policy: If you register and can no longer attend this event please let us know as soon as possible. Due to smaller group size limits imposed by COVID-19, many of our events have waitlists, and a few ‘no-shows’ have a significant impact.

What to wear: Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.

What to bring: Mask (required), a portable chair or blanket to sit on, a travel mug with a hot beverage, binoculars, a flashlight
